Silver Sky Rock
Pioneertown, California
Located in a remote area near Gamma Gulch, this 2,500sf off-grid home enjoys sweeping views to the north and east. A large cluster of rocks provides a focal point for views and outdoor activity. The house sits on a gently sloping site, partially retaining earth along its southern half. The primary design challenge was to balance northern orientation for views with southern exposure for natural lighting and passive heating during the winter months. The result is a home that offers a vast array of interior and exterior experience that fluctuate throughout the year.
