Goat Mountain

Landers, California

This 3,500sf home consists of two separate volumes that frame an interior courtyard. The client was seeking a home that would be comfortable to live in while also able to accommodate large gatherings. The architecture of the home is inspired by the early homestead cabin vernacular of the high desert. The modest proportions of the building, combined with the board and batten siding, exposed wood rafters and tongue and groove wood ceilings create an architecture of traditional texture and complexity. A variety of cozy patios, and large exterior canopies enable comfortable outdoor living during any season.
