The clients for this project were seeking a quiet home to serve as a family retreat. They have been visiting the Joshua Tree area for decades and have developed a deep connection with the landscape. The house would serve as a place for the family to gather and also provide opportunities for individual solitude and reflection. Located in a spectacular setting on the edge of the park, the site enjoys sweeping views of the Mojave Desert to the north and stunning access to a rocky hillside to the south. The design of the 2,000 square foot home offers access to these views in a variety of public and private spaces.
